Answer: Unfortunately, many schools are now being operated by people who themselves have only attended a short course and have no actual experience in the industry. They will even tell you that they are time served plasterers with teaching qualifications. This means there are a lot of unhappy students hoping to obtain the skills to go out and work but are very disappointed in the poor training they received for the money they have paid. Our tutors have spent their working lives in the construction industry and we are confident that our courses are the best quality and value for money available.
At the Plastering, Tiling and Bricklaying School of Excellence you are always welcome to come and visit the school and talk to both tutors and students at any time with or without an appointment. (Please make sure the school is open before you come).
Answer: At the Plastering and Tiling School Of Excellence we guarantee 1 tutor to every 6 students. This will ensure that you receive an exceptional amount of help and guidance throughout the course.
Answer: Yes all of our tutors have 30 years experience in the industry between them. They are all City and Guilds qualified to ensure you get the best quality of training available.
Answer: Our courses like all short courses do not carry NVQ qualifications but training and corporate organisations send students to us and pay for their training. We are also recognised by many Job Centres and Action Plan Centres for funding purposes.
Answer: Yes you will be given a recognised certificate on completion of the course. You will need this to gain insurance if you want to be self-employed.
Answer: Most of the students on our courses have no prior knowledge or practical skills but leave the course feeling confident and working to a high standard. From the feedback that we have received from ex-students these who wanted to work in the industry have achived this.
Answer: On completion of the course the skills that you have learnt will help you to find work anywhere, from new build to refurbishment projects. Most new plasterers start with patching jobs whilst they develop their skills and speed. Working for your-self is also an option. We will give you advice on setting up and advertising your own business and obtaining a CIS card. We get a lot of feedback from students who have been to our school who were amazed at the amount of work available to them and the earning potential.
Answer: We get a wide variety of people attending our courses form 16 to 60 and both men and women. We don’t discriminate at the Plastering & Tiling School Of Excellence everyone is welcome.
